Highest summit: Makaghakar (2,170 m)

Coordinates: 40°43’6.01, 45°8’33.08

The Tsaghkot Mountain Range extends through Gegharkunik and Tavush provinces and is a southwestern branch of the Miapor Mountain Range. It starts at Mount Ishkhanats in the Miapor Mountains and extends in a south-westerly direction to Mount Makaghakar, at which point it changes direction and moves westward, reaching the confluence of the Getik and Aghnovat rivers. The northwestern and southwestern slopes of the mountains are forested.

Mount Makaghakar

Mount Makaghakar stands on the border between the provinces of Gegharkunik and Tavush and is 4 km north of Dprabak village. The right tributary (Hzoraghbyur) of the Getik River rises from the slopes of Makaghakar, which are largely covered with a mixture of meadows and deciduous trees. Mount Makaghakar forms part of the “Getik” Sanctuary.
