Ararat is the symbol of Armenia. Every photographer who visits Armenia leaves with a photo of Ararat (if he/she is lucky with the weather). We offer you a one day photo tour in Armenia through the most marvelous and must-visit places of Armenia. During this trip we will take photos of Ararat from the most admirable angles and visit many beautiful sites of Armenia.

We will start the trip from Yerevan and drive to the famous Charents Arch. This is the place from where one can enjoy a wonderful view of the mountain Ararat.

Charents arch / Photo: Gev Khurshudyan

Then we will visit the rocky Medieval Monastery Complex – Geghard, which is carved into the rock. It is believed that the spear, which wounded Jesus at the Crucifixion was kept here until the 13th century.

Not far from the Geghard Monastery, the Pagan Temple of Garni is located. This is the only preserved pagan temple in Armenia. After examining the temple, we will go down to the Azat Gorge.

A natural monument “Symphony of Stones” is located in the Azat Gorge. These are vertical, upright cliffs, huge number of hexagonal basalt columns of volcanic origin (about 50 m high), which surprisingly eloquently and symmetrically hang over the gorge.

The whole monument resembles a huge organ, therefore it is also called the “Basalt organ”. Because of its striking form and amazing symmetry the “Symphony of Stones” seems to be man-made.

Our one day photo tour in Armenia will continue with a visit to the Surenavan village in the Ararat Valley. It is known as the village of storks. Since ancient times, Armenians considered the stork (Aragil) a sacred bird, a protector of the fields. In ancient Armenian myths, storks embodied the sun. In addition, we will have opportunity to capture the rural atmosphere of the village and its inhabitants.
