Volcanic and volcanic-sedimentary subsurface rocks lie at the core of the mountain. The southwestern slopes are slightly fragmented and steep. Steppe vegetation is common found on the lower parts of the mountain, while alpine meadows are common higher up, where grasses and flowers like primroses, bellflowers and wolf\u2019s bane are common. There is no vegetation at the peak, where the cliffs are bare and subject to weathering by storms.
