The trail goes through thick forests of Dilijan National Park. You can see khachqars (cross &#8211; stones) on your way from the lake to the village. Goshavank (Nor Getik Monastery) got its name in 1213, after Mkhitar Gosh, who founded the monastery in 1188, with the support of the Lords Ivane and Zaqare. It used to have a college, a university and a seminary.
