A large family of synthetic fabrics made from polyester (which comes from plastic) is called fleece. The technology of making fleece is rather new. The American company \u201cMalden Mills\u201d developed it in 1970-s. After that, fleece clothing became widespread among fans of sports and active tourism. It is not surprising that by its quality standards fleece made a revolution in sportswear. Let\u2019s figure out what fleece is, how it differs from wool, and what are the advantages of fleece?<\/p>\n

What are the Advantages of Fleece?<\/h3>\n

Compared to natural wool, fleece is much lighter. At the same time fleece warms better than the wool. Due to its texture, it creates air bags that serve as a barrier against cold air.<\/p>\n

Due to the waterproof properties of polyester, only the external part of the surface gets wet. This property allows the fleece to remain warm even after it gets wet, which is not typical for woolen clothes.<\/p>\n
