Sandukhtasar is the third highest peak in the Vardenis Mountain Range. The right tributary of the Karchaghbyur River, Gzhoyiget, starts from the northeastern slope of the mountain. The left tributary of the Karchaghbyur River, Yerpnadzor, starts from the southwestern slope.\u00a0 The mountain has a conical shape and steep slopes.
