{"id":85219,"date":"2015-03-27T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-27T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/bargushat\/"},"modified":"2024-01-31T16:27:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T12:27:29","slug":"bargushat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/bargushat\/","title":{"rendered":"Bargushat Mountains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Length: 86 km<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Highest peak: Mount Aramazd (3,399 m)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Bargushat Mountains, which constitute the eastern branch of the <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/kaputjugh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zangezur Chain<\/a><\/span>, are located in Syunik Region. The range begins from Mount Ayrisar of the Zangezur Chain and stretches eastward as far as Mount Aghjkasar. From this point, it turns south-east and reaches the valley of the Voghji, serving as a watershed between this river and the Vorotan. The western section is a raised horst block composed of metamorphic and sedimentary rocks of the Paleozoic, volcanic-sedimentary rocks of the Eocene and granitoids. Here are located Mounts <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/aramazd-mountain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aramazd<\/a><\/span>, Geghakar (3,343 m), Karakatar (3,270 m) and Yerkatasar (3,227 m).<\/p>\n<p>The eastern section is comparatively lower and has slanted sides composed of volcanic rocks of the Jurassic and the Cretaceous.<\/p>\n<p>The slopes are forested, with subalpine and alpine meadows in the elevated regions.<\/p>\n<p>The higher altitudes are characterized by cold mountain climate which is temperate in the lower areas, with annual precipitation ranging between 500 and 800 mm.
