It was also summarizing the results of the 10-year activities of the Armenian Geographic project.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to tradition, the opening speech was made by Suren Danielyan, the President of the Federation of Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism of Armenia. Presentations on ArmGeo expeditionary campaigns in Armenia and Artsakh were given. Many of them were unknown and there was no information on the Internet, so our mountain hikes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were also of a research nature<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/tsovu-bolor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tsovu Bolor<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of this project, we climbed 6 peaks of the historically<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> significant<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mountains that border Lake Van: <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/mount_sipan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sipan<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (4058 m), <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/varag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Varag<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (3200 m), <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/artos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artos<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (3550 m), <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/kaputkogh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kaputkoh<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Enzakisar) (3074 m), <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/grgur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grgur<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2478 m) and <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/nemrut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nemrut<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2935 m). The project is given this name due to the fact that the areas around Lake Van, which were the provinces of Turuberan and Vaspurakan in the Middle Ages, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were known as<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the common name \u201cTsovu Bolor\u201d (Around the sea).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/armgeo-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kids club<\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Armenian Geographic children&#8217;s hiking club was created to organize leisure time and improve the health of children. During the existence of the club, tent camps were set up and mountain hikes were organized, thanks to which its little participants were able to learn something new and gain an initial understanding of the world around them.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/armgeo-lori\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ArmGeo Lori<\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many people from Lori take part in the Armenian Geographic hikes so it was decided to create the \u201cArmGeo Lori\u201d project. The project\u00a0 is dedicated to the development of mountain hike culture in Lori region.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/supboarding-in-armenia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SUP surfing<\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SUP surfing is a water sport that has recently become very popular and fashionable. Karen Sargsyan, a member of our team, coach and guide, was the first to go SUP surfing in Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/guide-training-course\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mountain guides\u2019 training courses<\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> popularity of<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mountain tourism<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> increases annually, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the need for mountain<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> guides&#8217; services increases too. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/armgeo.project\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Armenian Geographic<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been organizing two-month training course<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for mountain guides\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">since 2022<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u201c<a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/seven-volcanoes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Volcanic Seven Summits<\/a>\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of this project, we plan to complete ascents to the highest volcanoes of each of the seven continents: Ojos del Salado (6893 m) in South America, <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/kilimanjaro-trekking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kilimanjaro<\/a> <\/span>(5895 m) in Africa, Elbrus (5642 m) in Europe, Orizaba (5636 m) in North America, <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/ascent-to-mount-damavand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Damavand<\/a> <\/span>(5610 m) in Asia, Giluwe (4368 m) in Australia, Sidley (4181 m) in Antarctica.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<h4>Additionally, on the evening of December 16, 2022:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the results over 10 years were summed up;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">people who had completed ascents to Ararat, Damavand and Kazbek received <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> certificates;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">every person <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wished to take part in a mountain hike to Ararat and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">registered<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for it on December 16, got a discount card;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">short films about the most <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">notable<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ascents made by the Armenian Geographic team over 10 years were shown.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Ararat<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ascent to Ararat is the most <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">significant result of ArmGeo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s work over the past years. Since 2014, people have been coming to us to make their dreams of the mountains come true, and 2022 has become an unprecedented year in terms of the number of new participants. We are sure that these events will be the beginning of a new stage in the history of ArmGeo. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, we couldn\u2019t help but climb Sabalan, the second highest peak of the Armenian Highlands, where the highest lake on this plateau is located.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/ascent-to-mount-sabalan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalan: the story of the ascent<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the ascent to Sabalan, we planned to climb Damavand, the highest volcano in Asia.
