{"id":8995,"date":"2015-04-11T10:49:47","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T06:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/teghenis-2\/"},"modified":"2019-12-24T18:55:56","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T14:55:56","slug":"teghenis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/teghenis\/","title":{"rendered":"Mount Teghenis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Teghenyats Mountain Range<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Length: 22 km<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highest summit: Mount Teghenis (2,851 m)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinates: 40\u00b031&#8217;4.78, 44\u00b031&#8217;25.65<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Located in Kotayk Province, the Teghenyats Mountain Range is one of the southeastern branches of the <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armgeo.am\/en\/tsakhkunyats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tsaghkunyats Mountain Range<\/a><\/span>. The climate is mild with average precipitation levels reaching 600-800 mm annually. The landscape is mostly mountain steppe, with mountains and meadows in the upper zone and forests of oak and hornbeam on the eastern slopes (up to an altitude of 2,300 m).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The origin of the name Teghenyats derives from the word &#8220;teghi&#8221;, which is the Armenian word for \u201cElm\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Mount Teghenis<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mount Teghenis stands on the borderline of the Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces, 7.5 km north of the village of Buzhakan. Buzhakan is also the name of a range that branches off from Mount Teghenis. Tributaries of the Hrazdan River (Araget) and Dalar River (Teghenyats) rise from the mountain, where the source of the Yeghipatrush River can also be found, as well as the Byurakn Springs (on the northwestern slope).
