People used to live in these caves centuries ago. The main settlement complexes are from the 12th-14th centuries. Unfortunately, there is no certain research about these caves. \u00a0It is not clear why people started to build such caves and live there, but it was probably because of the political situation and invasion of the enemies. It is interesting, that during the same period the creation of cave churches and cave khachqars (cross-stones) became very popular.<\/span><\/p>\n
