Mount Dzithanits

Mount Dzithanits

Mount Dzithanits, also known as Mount Maymekh, is located at the border of Lori and Kotayk regions, south of Vanadzor. The height of the mountain is 3081 m. It is one of the highest peaks of the Pambak Mountain Range. It consists of Paleogene volcanic rocks, most of which are intrusive. There are rocky outcrops. The landscape is mountainous and covered with meadows.

ArmGeo Lori

In 2020, the “ArmGeo Lori” project was launched with the ascent of Mount Dzithanits. This choice was symbolic, because this mountain is one of the symbols of Vanadzor. Mount Dzithanits is known among the locals as Maymekh.

To make the ascent more memorable, the team from Yerevan also headed to Mount Dzithanits, but from the opposite side. Thus, from two different sides, the teams from Yerevan and Vanadzor walked towards each other and met at the top of the mountain, celebrating the beginning of the project.
