The “Mermaid’s Hair” and the Geyser of Jermuk

Early in the morning, we will depart from Yerevan and head to Jermuk, where we will first take a hike to the Jermuk geyser.

The Jermuk geyser is located 5 km from the town of Jermuk, in the mountains. The water here has healing effect that have been mentioned for centuries. The temperature starts at 32 degrees, allowing a comfortable swim while enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The geyser itself is a natural jacuzzi with “hot” mineral water that gushes every 2 to 7 minutes. It is recommended to stay in the water for no more than 5 minutes, followed by a short break.

After that, we will take a walk to the Mineral Water Gallery and visit the Palace of Culture.

Before returning to Yerevan, we will descend into the Arpa Gorge. First, we’ll see the Jermuk Waterfall, also known as the “Mermaid’s Hair.”

Its waters flow in white streams over dark basalt cliffs. Next, we’ll visit the Wish Arch of Dreams, a natural stone formation 15 meters high and 30 meters wide, which is a remarkable natural landmark.

In the evening we will return to Yerevan.
