Geyser of Jermuk

The “Mermaid’s Hair” and the Geyser of Jermuk

The geyser of Jermuk is located within 5 km of the city, in the mountains. Its water has healing properties that were mentioned centuries ago. The lowest water temperature in the geyser is 32 degrees, which makes it possible to comfortably swim enjoying the clean mountain air.

The geyser itself is a natural jacuzzi with “hot” mineral water that gushes every 2-7 minutes. It is recommended to stay in the water no longer than 5 minutes and take a break.

We will start the tour in Yerevan early in the morning and will drive to Jermuk. Our first stop will be in the gorge of the river Arpa, where we are going to see the waterfall of Jermuk also known as the “Mermaid’s Hair.”

You will certainly enjoy the view of the water streaming over the dark basalt stones. Next, we will visit an amazing natural attraction, the Arch of Dreams, which is a stone arch 15 metres high and 30 metres wide.

During the hike which will start from the city centre we will have to cross the river several times.

Before returning to Yerevan, we will also visit the Gallery of Mineral Water and the Palace of Culture in Jermuk.
