Rafting Tour in Armenia

Rafting in Armenia is relatively new but already one of the most popular adventure activities. We offer you a real rafting experience in Armenia combined with hiking from Horomayr Monastery to Kobayr Monastery. 

Early in the morning we will drive to Lori region of Armenia. We will start our hike from the village Odzun and by a beautiful trail we will walk to Horomayr Monastery. The monastery is built on the edge of the cliff, 1 km south from the Odzun village. The monastery was founded in the 7th century and was one of the most important spiritual centers in Armenia. There are caves, khachkars and carvings within the monastic complex. The main church was probably built in 1187.

Our route will pass through the picturesque canyon and eventually lead us to the Kobayr Monastery. The monastery is built in the 12th century. Even though the part of the monastery has collapsed into the gorge, what remains is still spectacular. The name of the monastery is an interesting reflection on the history of the monastery as it means “cave-cave” in two languages. “Kob” means cave in Georgian and “ayr” means cave in Armenian.

After the short 8 km hike you will have an opportunity to experience an adrenaline rush while rafting in Debed River. Rafting will start from Tumanyan district and will end in Sanahin district.

After rafting, you will have an opportunity to jump into the water from the bridge.

At the end of the day will drive back to Yerevan.
