Climbing Mount Ararat / 5-Day Program

Climbing Mount Ararat is a challenging adventure, and you can trust us as we have been organizing it since 2014. Hundreds of participants have already shared with us their dream to step on the top of the Mount Ararat.

This program is for those who have previously visited Western Armenia and are specifically interested in climbing Mount Ararat. It does not include visits to Ani, Kars, and Van.

Day 1: Yerevan – Bayazet

Our trip starts at 7 am from Yerevan. We will drive to the Armenian – Georgian border, after crossing the Bavra checkpoint we’ll continue to the Georgian – Turkish border. After that, we will continue to Bayazet (Dogubayazit).

Overnight in a hotel in Bayazet.

Day 2: First Camp / 3200 m

From the hotel we will approach the mountain by bus. It will take us till 2200 meters from where we will start the ascent. The hike will take approximately 4-5 hours till the first base camp on 3200m.

All the heavy stuff will be carried from camp to camp by horses.

Overnight in tents at an altitude of 3200 meters.

Day 3: Second Camp / 4200 m

After breakfast, we will start the ascent form the first base camp (3200m) to the second one at an altitude of 4200m. The duration of the hike will be from 4 to 5 hours.

Overnight in tents at an altitude of 4200 meters.

All the heavy stuff will be carried from camp to camp by horses.

Day 4: The summit of the mountain Ararat / 5165m

We begin our ascent to the summit at night, which typically takes around 6-7 hours. After reaching the top, we descend to 4200 m, where we take a rest, prepare ourselves, and then continue our descent to 2200 m.

Overnight in a hotel in Bayazet.

Day 5: Bayazet – Yerevan

After breakfast, we depart for the Georgian-Turkish border in the morning.

The price per person is 670 $

The price includes:

• Three meals a day only at the camps on the mountain
• Breakfasts in hotel
• The service of mountain guides
• The rent of tents, mats and crampons
• The rent of horses

 

Participants are required to have appropriate mountain clothing and hiking equipment.
