If you want to experience great spring weather, come to Armenia. Spring in Armenia is perfect. Weather varies in different regions of Armenia, it might be a bit rainy. But in general, the weather is great: it is not cold anymore, and not too hot yet. Warm and bright Armenian sun will welcome you here, and make your trip a very memorable one.

On March 8 Armenia celebrates International Women’s Day. The difference of Armenian Women’s day is that it lasts more than one day. It becomes a whole month celebration and ends on April 7th, with the National day of Motherhood and Beauty. Many events, exhibitions and concerts are being organized on those days. In different parts of the streets, people are giving flowers to women who are passing by.

April is a month of Armenian Easter. The first Christian country celebrates this holiday in a beautiful and unique way. 

On 24 of April Armenians commemorate the victims of Armenian Genocide. The capital city is very busy on that day, because thousands of Armenians from all around the world visit Yerevan, and walk to Tsitsernakaberd – the memorial for all of the victims.

End of April and beginning of May is a perfect time for hiking in mountains and other types of tours in different regions of Armenia. In mountainous parts of the country, weather can be a bit more chilly. If chilly weather doesn’t bother you, then Mount Ara and mountain Ayrikar trips can be good hiking destinations for your spring holiday.

May Holidays.

May is a very eventful month for Armenia. There are many activities happening in different parts of the country. Many holidays and celebrations are happening in May. If you’re here on this month, you will be lucky to feel the festive vibes of the country. 

May 1st is Labor Day. May 9th – Day of Victory and Peace. Wine lovers will be happy to know that Yerevan wine days are happening in May. If you want to learn more about national cuisine and culture, you can attend the Dolma festival on May 20 in Aragatsotn province. May 28 is a Republic Day, which is dedicated to the proclamation of First Republic of Armenia. There are different events organized on those days: concerts, fireworks, entertaining activities.

One more interesting event, that is happening in Yerevan in May, is the Museum Night. May 18 is an International Museum Day and Armenia celebrates this day too. The whole night almost all of the museums in the city have free entrance. Many events are being organized dedicated to this day: exhibitions, performances, film screenings. This is a great cultural event for everyone.

Spring in Armenia is a great season to visit the popular Lake Sevan. 

Water is still cold for swimming, but the magnificent view of the lake and its surroundings will be an unforgettable experience. While you’re in Sevan, you should try the fish “ishkhan”,which is an Armenian trout, that inhabits in Lake Sevan. Stop by Sevanavank monastery at the northwestern shore of the lake. This monastery is an outstanding example of medieval Armenian architecture.

Popular destinations to go to in spring in Armenia are national parks. 

If you want to explore Armenian nature with all its diversity and beauty visit national parks. For example, Dilijan national park, which is known for its outstanding nature. Dilijan is a beautiful mountain resort town, surrounded by beautiful lush forests full of coniferous trees. The fresh air of this town has healing powers. In Dilijan national park you will find many rare trees, plants, historical and architectural buildings. There are many interesting hiking routes in Dilijan national park, that will lead you to beautiful architectural and natural masterpieces.

Some of the many interesting route examples are: hike from Parz Lake to Gosh village and climbing the mountain Apakekar, which are both located in the territory of Dilijan national park.

As you could see, spring in Armenia is quite eventful. Being here at this time of the year will give you an opportunity to enjoy the blooming nature of the country, to be a part of many festive events, to learn many things about Armenian culture, to merge with nature, to feel refreshed and inspired.
