Mountain tourism in Armenia

Geographical Project “Ours”

Mountaineering is one of the best ways to experience nature in countries with mountainous terrain. Thus we have adopted this activity in order to learn about the natural monuments and geographical objects of Armenia. Geographical tourism in Armenia is developin every day.

By following our mountain hiking campaigns and bringing together many like-minded individuals who love mountains and share our views, we have tried to accomplish our goal-dream project of climbing the highest peaks of all mountain ranges of Armenia.

The project was named “Ours”  since the main aim of it was to develop mountain tourism in our country by organizing mountain hikes in the territories of Armenia and Artsakh.

The highest summits of mountain ranges of Armenia

The project began in 2013. We climbed and reached the highest peaks of the mountain ranges, massifs and uplands in Armenia. Our journey stretched from Javakhq to Dizak. This initiative was mainly expeditional and strived for putting the mountaineering tourism at a wholly new level. This especially interested adventure seekers. Moreover, besides being a stimulant for the development of mountaineering, this project was a great tool to open up Armenia to Armenians as well, since surprisingly you cannot find any information about most of the mountains of this area on the internet. Throughout the project, we discovered new heights, got closer to nature, the surrounding villages, locals, natural and historico-cultural monuments. The program was open for all climbing lovers and mountaineers. Hundreds of people from different parts  of Armenia joined our ascents.
